A list of Shlaer-Mellor OOA/RD and Executable UML/MDA books, white papers, manuals, technical notes and links is provided here:
ReferencesThe book references are comprehensive for Shlaer-Mellor OOA/RD and Executable UML. However, the book references for MDA® are not comprehensive since MDA covers a broad area. The white paper references attempt to fill a gap on the web with regard to Shlaer-Mellor OOA/RD. Most of these white papers can no longer be found elsewhere on the web. The majority of white papers for Shlaer-Mellor OOA/RD were published either by Project Technology (now part of Mentor Graphics) or Kennedy Carter. The Project Technology references are fairly comprehensive since they openly distributed their white papers. The Kennedy Carter references are currently in very poor shape since they limited access to their white papers. The manual references are limited since access is normally restricted to licensees. However, most companies with a proprietary action language have published their action language manuals in the hope they can influence the general public that their action language is the best. The OMG does not currently define a standard action language for UML®. The technical notes are from the Shlaer-Mellor and Executable UML Portal blog. The link references are updated on a continual basis.
If anyone thinks a significant reference is missing please let us know. However, we generally don't list a reference unless we have or can obtain a copy of the referenced item.

Once OOA Tool 1.0 Standard is released and OOA10 is complete we will open an online marketplace for Shlaer-Mellor OOA/RD products and services. Analysts, designers and developers will be able to showcase and sell their service domains and software architectures here. Kavanagh Consultancy will try to facilitate this by providing the standards and mechanisms necessary to make the marketplace possible, e.g. a key objective of OOA10 is to facilitate this marketplace.
